After use, place the bamboo steamer in medium to hot water in the sink (fully submerged). This allows for any remnants of food to become unstuck and kills off bacteria. No longer than 5 minutes, as you will damage the steamer.
Using dish soap and a soft wet cloth, lightly rub the area with the food. Continue this until all food is off.
Rise off all dish soap and place on a dry kitchen towel. This allows for most of the water to drip off.
